Chook Fook 祝福

Spiritual “Chook Fook” day on 3rd of October

What is the purpose of Spiritual “Chook Fook” ?

The purpose of Spiritual “Chook Fook” is to attain “spiritual awakening”.

When did we first organize Spiritual “Chook Fook” day on 3rd of October?

Our Spiritual “Chook Fook” day was first organized on 3rd of October 1999.

When we pray to the Creator, what do we pray for?

When we pray, we seek the Creator’s blessings for our brothers and sisters to pray to the Creator with their mind, body and soul, for them to be more spiritually aware while practicing to be a whole man, pray for their daily safety, their good health, their success in life and their wishes to be granted.

How do we “Chook Fook”?

On 3rd of October, brothers and sisters in white attire will congregate at a selected venue. We start by singing the song of the Prayer. We then pray for the Creator’s blessings for everyone before departing. Brothers and sisters are grouped according to their residential areas. Upon arrival, we sing the song of the Prayer to let them know that we have arrived. After singing, we pray for the Creator’s blessings for the family. We will present our anniversary card to the family and spend some time sharing the latest information or to renew our relationship. Light refreshment is sometimes prepared by the host family but this is optional. The Prayer will be sung once more before leaving to visit the next family.

Why do we have to “Chook Fook” for every family?

Baitiangong is akin to a big family where everyone is a brother and sister, thus we have to seek the Creator’s blessings for all.

Annual Fasting Month

Annual Fasting Month

October is a spiritual month for us and all brothers and sisters are required to fast at least once for 24 hours continuously without food and water within this month. This spiritual month is a good time for us to discard our bad habits and to be a person who can change for the better.

Some brothers and sisters may choose to fast for 72 hours continuously without food and water. This is however not compulsory.

When man was first created, they did not know how to eat and drink for the first 72 hours. We fast for 72 hours to let the Creator know that we have not forgotten the existence of God.

The main purpose for us to fast 72 hours continuously is to request for the Creator’s consciousness to remain amongst mankind. When this is so, mankind would not be evil. For an example, the Divine Law of Nature is part of the Creator’s Consciousness: if a person is thinking of committing some evil deeds, the Divine Law of Nature will grant good consciousness to this person to stop the evil thoughts from manifesting.

Fasting every 1st and 15th day of the Lunar calendar

Apart from the once in a year compulsory fasting, we are also encouraged to perform an optional 24 hours continuous fasting on the 1st and 15th day of the lunar calendar. By fasting regularly, we can improve our health and control our emotions. We eat to provide nutrition for our body, we read to provide knowledge for our mind and we fast to provide spiritual enlightenment for our soul.

Fasting Fund Donation

Every year on 4th of October we will invite charitable organization to participate in our celebration and we will donate the money collected from the fasting fund to them. The fasting fund is raised from brothers and sisters who have fasted for 24 hours continuously without food or water. The amount donated from each brother and sister is the same regardless of their financial status. Although the donation amount is not significant, the fasting is of profound significance.

Anniversary of the Revelation of the Prayer - 4 Oct

Anniversary of the Revelation of
the Prayer to pray to the Creator to Xian Sheng
on 4th October 1976

Every year, we celebrate this occasion on a grand scale to commemorate the Revelation of the Prayer to pray to the Creator. We arrange the programme to feature Xian Sheng’s teachings, performance by brothers and sisters and donation to the charitable organizations. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to take leave from work and invite their families, relatives and friends to attend our celebration.

How did Xian Sheng receive the Prayer to pray to the Creator?

The Prayer to pray to the Creator was first revealed to Xian Sheng during one of his meditation sessions at his home in Kepong Baru on 4th October, 1976. The prayer revealed to Xian Sheng was in Chinese characters and it was as though a voice (internal consciousness) was narrating the Prayer word by word in Cantonese. Being one educated in an English school all his life, he was naturally at a loss as far as the Prayer in Chinese characters was concerned and he uttered, “GOD!  I don’t understand Chinese”.  However, Xian Sheng remembered the narration in Cantonese and later with the help of his friends who were Chinese scholars he was able to have the whole Prayer written down correctly to form what is now our prayer.

I don’t understand Chinese” (中文译  “主!

Why is 4th October so important to us and why do we celebrate it?

4th October is to commemorate the day Xian Sheng received the Prayer. We use this Prayer to pray to the Creator.

Can we change the date?

To understand the importance of this day, we celebrate this occasion on the same day every year. At the same time, 4th October is our spiritual new year, thus if we change the date, the significance will be lost.

Why do we encourage people to wear white attire for this celebration?

White symbolizes purity, essence of unity and integrity. Wearing the same colour serves to promote and project a united front and forms an identity for our spiritual movement.

When we arrive at the celebration venue, why must we pray to the Creator?

We pray at the celebration venue to show our gratitude to the Creator for revealing the Prayer to Xian Sheng.
